500W powerful surround sound
The RX-V357 receiver delivers high power output to five channels - two front, one centre and two surround - providing more than enough power (100W x 5, 6 ohms, 1kHz, 0.9%THD) to fill even the largest room with vibrant music and rich sound effects.
High performance D/A converters
The RX-V357 uses extremely high performance 192kHz/24-bit D/A converters for all five channels. They perform accurate sound field reproduction for high quality multi-channel sources and provide outstanding separation and precise musical delineation for two-channel stereo. They also deliver superior low level linearity with excellent full-scale performance.
High dynamic power
The RX-V357 can deliver large amounts of reserve power for the accurate reproduction of the high energy peaks in digital audio sources. This emphasises the music’s dynamic qualities and provides sharp, clear sound.
Analogue mixdown
The analogue mixdown feature of the RX-V357 lets you enjoy 5.1-channel sound from only four speakers — two front and two surround. The centre channel and subwoofer frequencies are mixed into the two front channels.
Advanced decoding circuitry
The decoding circuitry featured in the RX-V357 performs Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding with extreme accuracy. Dolby Digital/Matrix 6.1 and DTS/Matrix 6.1 allow the decoding of 6.1-channel movies without the need for extra speakers.
Night Listening mode and SILENT CINEMA
When you’re listening to movies late at night and turn down the volume during loud scenes, dynamic range suffers and you may miss some dialogue and other sounds. Night listening mode enables you to reduce the volume and still enjoy proper tonal balance and dynamic range.
SILENT CINEMA mode allows private surround sound listening enjoyment of multi-channel music or movies through ordinary headphones.
Quad-Field/Tri-Field CINEMA DSP and 14 surround programs
Yamaha’s ultra-sophisticated Quad-Field and Tri-Field CINEMA DSP technology creates realistic soundscapes in your lounge room. Fourteen surround programmes provide full format compatibility and extensive listening choices.
Flexible connection options
The RX-V357 allows you to connect two different components for a choice of high quality video sources and is also compatible with HDTV (720p, 1080i). Optical and coaxial digital input terminals also allow you to connect high quality digital devices such as a DVD player or certain cable or satellite boxes. Terminals can either be independently assigned to sources or defaulted to fixed settings.
