Public Display In the market of public displays the demands on PDP technology are quite challenging. The PlasmaSync 42VP4D meets all these challenges head on, thanks to a multitude of technological advances from NEC. The key attribute that stands out is the high quality picture performance in an ambient environment. It is almost unfair to pick on any one particular aspect; the 42VP4D has improvements in every area of picture quality demands.

All this plus the lowest power consumption of 270 Watts and a weight of 28.5Kg makes this an ideal product for Public Display Applications. The 42VP4 series comes standard with the industry s only CCF filter. But to make the 42VP4D even more in tune with the Public Display demands we have added an anti-glare filter. As the name suggests this filter removes practically all possible glare, whilst achieving the best picture quality possible. In addition the 42VP4D for video-wall applications comes with a built in splitter feature for 2X2 or 3X3 applications.

Multimedia Display This model is ideal for all applications (apart from Public Display). Features such as Flicker Free, Digital Zoom, Color Memory and Input Skip make it the most convenient to operate. Significant advances have been achieved in every device and process from the input of signal to the actual picture display. The PlasmaSync 42VP4 offers the best A/D converter, I/P and scaler. These improvements result in vibrant color, smooth pictures and the depth of the greyscales is astounding. This multimedia model also comes standard with the industry s only CCF filter. To make the 42VP4 even more in tune an anti-reflection filter has been added. Silver Model For those who may want to exhibit their design flare, the Multimedia model also comes in a silver finish.

Quiet Operation and Lightweight Chassis NEC developed a new chassis for this monitor, with a divided structure made of diecast aluminium. Lighter and stronger than previous models, it also enables more efficient cooling. Reducing the cooling fans from five to three, results in the industrys lowest noise level for monitors with fans (22dBA).

Designed with Consideration for the Environment NEC went to great lengths to make this monitor as environmentally friendly as possible. Two noteworthy features are the use of a noncombustible PC/HIPS alloy rather than the previous halogen type, and a water-based paint with low levels of organic solvent instead of ordinary paint.

Introducing PlasmaSync Cell Structure Color is created by the application of voltage to pairs of electrodes above and below the cells which are coated in red, green or blue phosphors. This results in the emission of light and the display of an image. The PlasmaSync cell structure features grid barrier ribs which separate cells vertically, preventing light discharge, from cell to cell. The PlasmaSync electrode structure allows a larger and more effective discharge, resulting in increased luminance and decreased power consumption.

Digital AccuDevice Digital AccuDevice provides noise-free, high picture quality, high-grade progressive image expression and resolution conversion by treating all signals from input to actual display on the plasma screen in a complete digital domain. With Digital AccuDevice, picture reproduction is taken to a level never seen before on plasma screens, completely eradicating picture noise.

Mass Area Superior Sampling (MASS) MASS delivers high quality progressive images and allows smooth reproduction for clear, precise colour with no blurring. The I/P LSI, featuring MASS, smoothes jagged lines and corrects colour bleeds to create clear stable colour images. Finally, the Scaling LSI selects the ideal input signal resolution so images display smoothly and text is easy to read.

AccuCrimson and CCF Technology AccuCrimson, employed in the front filter, is a technology for attenuating the orange color that occurs in the wavelength of red color. AccuCrimson clearly expresses the delicate difference between the cinnabar and red colors, this produces natural skin colors, a task which is difficult for any plasma.

With the CCF (Capsulated Color Filter) technology, each pixel is capsulated and embedded with color filters for the three primary colors (RGB), the result is that the red, blue and green colors are reproduced more accurately. Black stripes between the cells ensure deeper blacks, brighter whites and more vivid colors are reproduced while the screen reflections are reduced.

The Color Tune Technology can adjust certain colors without effecting other colors on the display screen. Until now, this has been difficult to achieve because the white colour balance would have been affected. With this technology the user can enhance the blues for better skies or oceans, or greens for better trees etc., without effecting other colors on the display.

Unsurpassed Contrast Ratio The NEC range boasts one of the industry s highest contrast ratios in high levels of ambient light. High contrast is of key importance in these type of environments and NEC plasma monitors deliver outstanding performance. The PlasmaSync range produces vivid sharp images even when under bright lights or in direct sunlight.

Gamma-12 Gamma-12 presents excellent dark scene detail, featuring 4096 shades of grey. Reproduction is distinctively clearer and distortion is considerably reduced creating much smoother images, even in dark areas.

Scan Converter The New Scan Converter converts input signals in accordance with the resolution of the display. Since sampling accuracy for the interpolation of data has been increased, small characters can also be displayed with dramatically improved readability.
