BLACK+DECKER 750w Rebating Planer
This High Performance Rebating Planer from BLACK+DECKER is designed to provide the user with accuracy and control over every cut. This versatile planer can be used in any direction and comes with flexible left or right dust extraction. Featuring two high quality reversible tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) blades to ensure maximum duarability and a superior finish. It has a park rest to protect both the work piece and the blades when resting and rubber over the molded front and main handles to provide better grip, comfort and control. An easy empty dust bag can also be attached to either side for more flexibility and a cleaner working environment.
Power and Durability
The Rebating Planer has a powerful 750w motor which means there is less chance of over loading the tool, resulting in a longer tool life and superior performance over different types of wood. The no-load drum speed of 16000 rpm and twin TCT blades provide a high quality finish in harder types of wood.
Amongst other robust design features, the planer base is made from high quality machined aluminium which provides accuracy and durability whilst the belt drive design helps protect against motor overload when used in the most demanding of applications. The Rebating Planer has a maximum cutting depth of 2mm per pass and a 12mm rebating capacity.
Ergonomic Design
The Rebating Planer incorporates a large front and rear shoe design to prevent gouges on the material and to provide a smooth even finish. Rubber over molded front and main handles provide a good level of grip for both comfort and control. The choice of left or right chip ejection is designed to improve versatility by allowing the operator to be on either side of the work piece and the precision depth adjuster allows cut depth to be set at 0.2mm increments for maximum ease of use.
Applications
The Rebating Planer is designed for various applications including re-sizing items such as doors, panels, window frames, floor and skirting boards. Other common applications are smoothing before finishing with sander to obtain a professional high quality finish on decorative work and rebating in order to fit hardware such as water runoff bars on external doors. The 3 chamfer grooves machined into the front base of the tool remove sharp edges in order to help prevent wood splinters. The chamfering feature has been designed to be particularly useful for finishing items such as banister rails, shelves, window sills and benches.
Accessories
The Rebating Planer is supplied with two high quality reversible TCT BLACK+DECKER planer blades to ensure maximum life and a superior finish. Reversible blades are double sided and so if wear is detected, the blades can be removed from the housing and reversed to expose the fresh edge. This allows for the blades to be used for twice as long as non reversible blades.
An easy to empty dust bag is included to help to maintain a clean working environment while the vacuum adaptor attachment supplied as standard can be used in place of the dust bag to connect to a standard vacuum hose for prolonged dust extraction. A parallel side fence attachment can also be fitted to the planer to provide more control and accuracy when working on a straight edge.
Safety
It is important to wear the appropriate safety equipment, for example a pair of approved safety goggles, at all times to prevent injury. The user should always keep their fingers clear of the cutter block and never force the machine too fast on the work surface. Before, use, they should inspect the material for any obstructions such as staples, screws or nails as these will damage the blades and also check for knots as these may come loose. Where possible planing should be done with the grain of the wood and not against. The park rest feature is designed to provide protection for both the work piece and blades when the planer is not in use.
