Native WXGA Resolution



The LV-8300 utilizes WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution at a native aspect ratio of 16:10, meeting the increasing demand for wide screen displays. Compared to XGA, the LV-8300 offers a larger display range capable of projecting data produced on your widescreen laptop, just as it appears on your screen. The LV-8300 is perfect for displaying crisp video, diagrams, and text.



3000 Lumens



With a powerful 3000 lumens, the LV-8300 is among the brightest of Canon's portable XGA resolution projectors. Even in a classroom or office with high levels of ambient light, your audience will be sure to see every brilliant detail of your presentation. You can even use your LV-8300 to present in front of large audiences in conference and boardroom environments. And you'll be able to use that brightness longer, thanks to a Long Life Lamp which delivers up to 4,000 hours of use in Quiet Mode.



1.2x Optical Zoom Lens



The 1.2x optical zoom lens faithfully projects images while offering ease of placement, allowing you to easily change the screen size to accommodate various venues and/or applications- regardless of space limitations. The LV-8300's short throw distance allows you to project 100-inch images from only 9.5 feet, making the LV-8300 easy to setup in large rooms. Only 7.5 feet are needed for 80-inch projections, making it ideal for classrooms and small meeting rooms.



DVI-I Interface (HDCP Compliant)



The LV-8300's DVI-I interface provides an all-digital connection between the projector and an input source. It avoids the signal conversion step required by analog connections, and thus maintains high signal integrity. This results in a clearer picture, with no flickering, blurred lines, ghost images, or coloration problems with text display. The interface is also compliant with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), ensuring a digital connection between HDCP compliant devices, such as many of today's cable boxes, DVD and Blu-Ray players. The high quality of the DVI-I connection makes the new LV-8300 projector ideal for high defintion TV, and is compatible with 1080i and 720p video signals.



Built-In Network Connection







A built-in RJ-45 network connection allows you to control projectors from a central location, making it easy to install and manage a large scale system. The network connection also enables the projector to send out an email alert when an error has occurred, or when the lamp has reached the end of its life. The LV-8300 also supports AMX device discovery.



Wide Range of Connectivity



The LV-8300 connects to a variety of devices, including laptop and desktop computers, DVD players, digital cameras, camcorders, and VCRs. HDMI devices are connectable using an HDMI to DVI adapter*. Many desktop PCs cannot be connected to both a projector and monitor at the same time. The LV-8300's Monitor Out terminal allows for an external monitor to be connected to the projector- a practical feature in settings where the projector is hooked up to a desktop computer. In addition, the projector's network capabilities allow you to control projectors from a central location.



Flexible Image Settings



The LV-8300 allows you to appropriately optimize your projections using one of five automatic image modes:



Presentation - Ideal for presentations using PowerPoint.



Video - For projecting standard video, such as TV broadcasts.



Cinema - For projecting film-based video, such as movies (DVD or HDTV).



Standard - When maximum color accuracy is desired for viewing graphics.



sRGB - For reproducing color adapted to the sRGB color space; suitable for sRGB content.



In addition, a "Detail Settings" menu allows you to further customize the projection mode. Select any image mode and make desired adjustments, such as for brightness, contrast, and sharpness.



The size of your projections can also be changed to match the type of image desired, by making adjustments to the various aspect ratio settings.



Auto - Adjusts the aspect ratio from 4:3 of traditional televisions and computer monitors to 16:9, 15:9, or 16:10.



Wide Zoom - Modifies the standard 4:3 ratio by enlarging the image, cropping from the top and bottom, and eliminating the need for black sidebars.



Letter Box - Best for native 16:9 content.



True Size - Adjusts the ratio aspects in the best way to fit the screen without strongly altering the image from what was intended originally.



Screen Color Correction



Useful when a projection screen is not available, the LV-8300's Screen Color Correction feature allows you to project directly onto a wall, correcting the distortion of colors caused by the color of the projection surface. The LV-8300 lets you choose from 8 different projection surface colors. In addition to the 8 screen colors, a Whiteboard Mode is also available for projecting images onto whiteboards.The Whiteboard Mode dramatically reduces the reflective "bright spots" on a whiteboard, helping to maintain genuine color re-creation. The often used green blackboard is expecially useful in the classroom setting.



Color Management



The LV-8300 allows users to manually fine-tune colors and black tones for precise, customized on-screen image adjustment. Instead of having just one master control, the projectors offer individual adjustment for color levels and color balance (not available for the RGB input), as well as brightness, contrast, and sharpness.



7-Watt Speakers



The LV-8300 is equipped with high output 7-watt speakers, making it possible for audio to be heard clearly in most classrooms and conference rooms.



Sophisticated New Design



This new LV-8300 has been ergonomically designed, with a variety of new features that make your job easier than ever before:



Carrying Handle



A carrying handle has been integrated into the main unit, making transporting the projector quick and easy. In addition to the increased portability, the exterior combines functionality with style. By using light colors such as pearl white and gray, the projector easily blends in elegantly with most interiors.



Newly-Designed Lens Cover



The newly-designed lens cover protects the entire area around the lens, protecting the lens from dust that can penetrate into gaps of the zoom lever and focus ring.



Easy Access Lamp



An opening for replacing the lamp has been installed on the top of the projector. Even if the projector is installed on the ceiling, the LV-8300's lamp can be replaced without having to move the projector. In addition, a replacement counter will display a message indicating the time when lamps and filters need replacing.



Time and Energy Efficient



The LV-8300 has a variety of features that make the projector both energy-efficient, and time-efficient for the user:



Direct Power On



Useful for ceiling installed projectors, this feature will automatically turn on the projector when the power cord is plugged into an outlet- eliminating the need to press the power switch on the unit- a practical function when the projector is not directly accessible.



Computer Synchronization



This feature will automatically turn on the projector when a computer is connected and an input signal is detected. The projector will automatically synchronize with your computer screen's pixel configuration.



Power Management



When selected, this feature will automatically turn off the projector after a designated period of no operation; either 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.



Off Timer



The Off Timer feature can be set to automatically turn the device off after a specific time. Eight preset time options are selectable: Off, 0:30, 1:00, 2:00, 4:00, 8:00, 12:00 and 16:00.



Easy-to-Use Flexibility



Weighing only 7.3 lbs. (3.3 kg) and measuring only 12.5"w x 13.2"d x 4.4"h (317mm x 336mm x 111mm), the LV-8300 is both lightweight and versatile, making it a preferred choice for those on the go. The LV-8300 can also operate as a front or rear screen projector, and can be mounted on the ceiling. Boasting Quick Start and Quick Cooling, the LV-8300 will start up in about eight seconds and cool down within only 30 seconds. No matter where you decide to use your projector, the LV-8300 will operate at a low 35dB in Normal Mode and 29dB in Quiet Mode. The new LV-8300 has a variety of additional features that make setting up and operating the projector simple and straight-forward:



Automatic Keystone Adjustment



The LV-8300 gives you further flexibility by adapting to the environment with the automatic keystone adjustment. Simply place your projector on a flat surface, and keystone will correct automatically- with no buttons to push, making setup a breeze! Built-in sensors detect the tilt of the projector and automatically correct for keystone distortion - up to +/- 30 degrees vertically. Of course, you can still adjust keystone correction manually.



New User-Friendly Control Panel



During your presentation, you will be able to stay focused thanks to the LV-8300's new user-friendly control panel. Easily control the volume, make menu selections and switch between four different input sources with the touch of a button. With buttons resembling those of simple-to-understand printers and copy machines, the projector's control panel operations are a cinch. If you prefer, you also have the option to control the projector using the wireless IR remote control.



New Tab-Style Menu



The LV-8300's intuitive new tab-style on-screen menu makes it easier than ever to navigate through projector settings. Simple tabs of white text on a black background allow clear visibility to select the appropriate settings at a glance. All menu options are available in 21 different languages.



Closed Captioning



Unlike many projectors, the LV-8300 is now able to display closed captioning information. This new feature will clearly benefit those in your audience with hearing impairments, making it easier for them to understand difficult dialog.



User Security



The LV-8300 is equipped with a Key Lock function, used to disable the keys on the projector's control panel, making the projector operable only from the remote control. This feature is helpful in preventing interruptions due to someone accidentally touching the control panel. In addition, the projector's built-in password protection ensures that only authorized users are able to start and operate the projector. At startup, a display will appear and prompt the user to enter a password set in advance by the projector's owner. Users cannot get past this screen until the password is correctly entered.
